After competing in Pikes Peak last year and obtaining the outright hill record, the ID.R went back to the factory, and modified with improvements to aerodynamics adding an improved rear wing, a redesigned front splitter and F1 inspired DRS (drag reductions system).

The energy management system had a few tweaks and changes to allow the ID.R to reach top speed quicker whilst using less energy. The new Nurburging trimed ID.R will return to Goodwood for the Festival of Speed, to challenge for the outright hill climb record in early July, after obtaining the electric hill record at Goodwood last year.
